What Tyres?
« on: June 11, 2011, 05:38 PM »
RADsters,

Looking for some tyres for a rider; after NOS White ones unless I can be convinced otherwise....  :-\

Don't want to go beyond 20 quid for the pair if I can help it. Looking at a pair of Kenda Kontacts; any thoughts / experience of these, and any alternatives?  ???

All input gratefully received.  :daumenhoch:

Thanks,

Richard.

If its for an OS ride fella then one colour tyres will look gash, try a set of Xposure Chas 2.125 and Dave 1.75  for bargain old school looking new school treads, Im running them and so's spen and hootski, good tryres you could rum a pair of daves as they have a more oldschool feel tread and the thinner look looks better front and back, they look like an oddy barefeet tyre

Interesting input, Jaymz, but I specifically wanted to move away from two colour tyres (gum / white walls) to try something different out.

I know Spen raves about the Chas and Daves; can you Daves Front and Rear? The do look like nice rubber.  :smitten:

Cheapest place to buy 'em?  :knuppel2:

£13 each from Evans.

They are going on Lime Green Tuffs if that helps the debate?

I have had a nice recommendation of Haro Darts from badbaldie, which though not white, are perfect for my project.  :-\

So many choices........  :D

such brightly coloured tuffs can carry one colour tyres, ive seen blue tyres on white that look nice.

Childhooddream has a pair of Blank tyres in white for £13 http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=127727.0 might be worth grabbing them cheap to try out your theory, they are damn good tyres too, i had a set on one of my new schools

Rich ,, the reason why Brummie is puzzled with your choice ,, its the term NOS in your post

NOS meaning New OLD stock ( Old stock that hasn't been used ) i.e 80's

Not New stock  :daumenhoch:

Don't worry ,, your not the first and you surely ain't gonna be the last to use the term unknowingly  :D

Good luck with the search fella  ;)  :daumenhoch:

Rich ya loon :daumenhoch:

White tyres will look gash after 2mins outside or in a park bud, so stick with a pair of Xposure Daves as Jimbo said for the o/s look but n/s grip if you're gonna ride it....... :2funny:

LiferBMX was where I got mine from - give him a shout, unless of course Sir Stodgy of Rad stocks them?

Might cost you a tiny bit over £20 to get them posted due to it being a small order though bud, but get in touch with Sid as he might be interested in a pair as well :daumenhoch:

Fookin' white tyes...... fookin' newbies, all the fookin' same, they never learn........ :knuppel2: :uglystupid2:
