« on: May 17, 2006, 04:30 PM »
Hey dudes need some help with this. Just came today mongoose supergoose but there is a problem. Someone has drilled a hole through the frame see in pics. Also noticed the tubes are alot thicker than my other mongooses see what you think. Could it be a pro class?

You can see the hole, has this fooked the frame also the number reads k3002471 is this a mongoose number

Hope these pics help, bought the bike like this for £172 inc delivery

Yeah, thought it had been from a stand just wondering if it had weakend the frame ;) All the tubes are much fatter though. Had one as a kid and carn't remember all the tubes being fatter because my mate had an expert and the front was just the same?

Looks like one the pro class sized tubed supergooses
ie bigger down tube and fatter rear stays but not thin walled like the pro class F&F

US spec i think as UK version didn't have chunky tubes according to the info i gathered
stamped on the box section is a pro class sign so def check the weight of the frame and forks
super light means pukka pro class

nice find !

theres a thread some where about all this - give me 5 mins
cheers Kev

here it is

http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=10943.0

i brought one of these F&F too - hoping it was a mis badge pro class
but the test from Us mag shows they had chunky tube supers out there at least
and the weight is a dead give away

check the info on that other thread

did i say nice find !!  :daumenhoch:

Yeah, thought it had been from a stand just wondering if it had weakend the frame

the hole shouldn't be an issue, strengthwise, since it's in the middle of the section.  :)

What a great community RADBMX is fellas! I had the same treatment with my MRD, and long may it last. Really cool how people go that extra mile for each other, it's a pity it doesn't always translate to everyday life.

Nice one,
Adey.

i have just lined up my 3 goose frames side by side
the 84 expert and 85 cali are identical

the supergoose: has a fatter downtube. fatter rear triangle. lower bottom bracket due to slightly different shaped rear triangle.

they all have the exact same toptubes though. and all frames have the same length

i will charge up my camera batteries and take some pics of them all together, and weigh them all and take measurements for comparison tomorrow

The Eric Rupe signitures have both 1 1/4" top tubes and down tubes, and are 1" longer on the wheelbase than Pro Classes and a slightly higher bottom bracket
