Skyway + fitting tyres issue
« on: June 20, 2011, 01:30 PM »
Hi all,
On the ride this morning I had flashbacks of being 10 on my old blue and yellow mag burner!

I completed my Mongoose at the weekend and fitted some Tioga Comp2 tyres to the Skyway Tuff2 wheels.

The flashback feeling was the way the tyres didn't seem to be fitted straight on the wheels and both had a little 'wobble'.  I seem to remember this was an issue even in the 80's, but can't remember how you fix it?!  ::)

Is it just a case of letting some air out and tapping the tyre round?

Any suggestions welcomed.  :daumenhoch:

I had this recently on my red tuffs. And yeah just let the type pump up slowly making sure the type is seated correctly.

Washing up liquid on the tyre beams and pump up slow seating correctly as it inflates

what i've done is pump it up then if the tyre is lifting above rim let some air out then just tap the wheel on the ground until it seats then reinflate

I didnt have the problem of them lifting above the rim, mine werent popping up onto the rim, it was like the tyre was too tight. I tried overinflating to pop them out, but it didnt work, took me ages, pumping and pulling to get them sat right!!!
