Please help 3 wana-be bmx riders!
« on: May 27, 2011, 03:51 PM »
Hi all

I need to buy 3 entry bikes for my around-10-years-old nephews who are disgraciously growing up with video games.

I would like to introduce them to the BMX world since when I was a kid my red BMX was the most remarkable present I ever got.I hope they'll take it that way!

Now my budget is around £100 per bike.I found a really cute one on amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...pf_rd_i=468294

and there are quite a few on Argos

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...0_ON_x20_BIKES))

Can you please help me to choose?!

Many Thanks!!!

Vee

P.S. need to get a deal by Sunday night!!!!

 :) Hi Dude,

£100 won`t get much and those you`ve mentioned are pretty bad.Try second hand and stretch a bit more and you can get yourself some bikes from a proper BMX company- BMXs that won`t get laughed at and will last.Try asking over on BMXTALK as loads of decent bikes for sale .

Hi VOIVOD

thanks for your reply.Unfortunately I am quite tight with budget, need to buy three plus send them abroad where my men are from.
They are only three and as I said they are at a very entry level(practically never ridden one).I believe what I'd get is not even medium range but according to my search they look good as first bike.

Cheers

You could check out Winstanleybmx. If they haven't ridden before, an up to date ride isn't that important, they do good deals on 2007/ 2008 models.
Worth a look. Go to their Clearance bike section.

:) No worries, just try and stick to established brands.Entry level GT/Mongoose could be a good start.ChainReaction website often have bikes at sensible prices.Good Luck.

I would maybes get a second hand bike, for 100 you can probly get an ok startup ride - just check for cracks etc - personally I would avoid GT, Mongoose and all those brands that used to do good BMX bitd - kids get good real quick now and they will break stuff easy as.  Keep well away from argos and the like  ;D
