dp and anal

Now I have your attention....

So how anal can you be when building a frame that didn't have a full 'factory spec'?  Looking to finish off my dp and need pedals and a seat on a pretty tight budget but need something that looks right.  Any ideas without breaking the bank?

I'm thinking black pedals, for a opc.  I have some suntour xc-11's that I'm getting recoated but not surre if they'd look right on it or not?  I've also got some ACS twisted platforms and some white HSING platforms but these would suit a GT better I think.  Classic black white and red scheme overall matey

Black mate.  Most is black and white with some little touches of red, wanted to follow the decal scheme as much as possible.  I'll take a look at the Haro's

True, I had been thinking about one of these.  I'm waiting on a package from Porky as it is, shoulda waited!

How anal?  Take a look at the spec on my 1978 Mongoose DeCoster, every part is from (or before) 1978 and 95% NOS.  It took me about 18 months to complete the bike.

Like Stidds says depends on how anal, for me I rode with XCII's on my Haro Master bitd and they are probably the best pedal to have hit the market; if you have them already they are era correct and won't cost you anymore.

Seat wise, the Dominator would look OK while you look for something better or you may find it will look just fine and not have to be replaced.  One of the great things about this game is that you can chop and change for better/worse parts (depends on your pov) over time so you can never really go too wrong  .

Yet another question then.....

The XC11's just need a bit of refurb, and I was thinking of these for the Firebird.  Question is, did they ever produce in any colour cages than black?  Can't recall ever seeing in another colour as I was also considering for the TA but would have to be done in blue for that and might look odd?

Yep, you could get them in blue, red, silver and black IIRC; they were available from 85 or so onwards
