What are you?
« on: May 16, 2011, 07:11 PM »
I was taking to Lenny about the little hardcore group of riders that keep turning out for these Old Folks skatepark nights and how gradually everybody if progressing and riding HARD ... pushing their abilities... and then theres some folks who never ride but just build the most stunning bikes... so which are you... I've put in loads of options but LMK if you need anymore... tis only a bit of fun  :)

Love building/collecting - love riding, but I'm shite at riding  :LolLolLolLol:

Had a roll round Blackpool Ramp City a few times, always have a laugh but park is never gonna be my thing - I do like rolling round Coppull race track though and I'm definitely a bit better than I used to be a couple of years back........ but still shite !  ;D

Love going for a little cruise on a sunny day with my daughter on her minigoose as well  8)

It's all BMX it's all good - haven't broken into new school yet but who knows maybe one day...........  :-\

I'm 5th from the top mostly, but get a real buzz from building, no matter what it is, i'm past old school stuff for building, I honestly can't justify the spend offset against the pleasure, but everything I build has a nod of the head to oldschool, because that is where I was when it started in `82, only it was new then!!.

Been to 2 good parks in 3 days, lovin it, ankles throbbing like teenagers b3ll end though!!

Might go Viccy park in Leicester tomorrow, or Loughborough, or Barwell, or to the Pub!!

Before I built my latest rider (the Alone) I though I would be done, retro quad, haro cruiser and a new school rider, but I have a wandering eye, and seeing Eds Haro, spens Haro, bretts DP and a few others, I'm getting the urge again.....

We'll see..
Hard + Stylish = Chicks + Beer!!!

I love finding all the parts for a  build and then giving them all to Vince and getting it back a week later all nice and shiny. I don't ride on a track or in a skatepark (i'd kill myself) but i love just going for a cruise on a sunny day with my Son and a the Rad meets are awesome.

I raced yesterday, I'll race tomorrow night and I'll be riding the new skatepark in town at the weekend with my lad. I commute on a 26" wheel BMX. You could say I'm a rider...

Love riding... parks mostly, although i'm never gonna worry Harry Main and the like...  :-[

Have 3 bikes one new school and 2 mid school, both old bikes are race builds, both riders, but they sit in the front room gathering dust....  :-[

Given up on the os racing but will still go to tracks for a mess about...  :daumenhoch:

So i voted no.6

2 minutes turkish...

option for me is,  never realy stopped riding , haveing a dabble at racing again,  trying to and will get to a couple of the park meets , can't afford to build the os park bike i want and to quote a standard statement on her  " should have hung on to that one "  :LolLolLolLol:

Can't see the options on my gayberry Ed but I've ridden every bike I've ever built bar my last ProClass and even that I had a sneaky roll down the drive the day I sold it!

My Haro was on the floor of the bowl twice on saturday so is there a category for "spend months restoring then ride like I stole it and worry about it later?"

After years of collecting and restoring it's only the quality of my resto work that has improved as my riding is still in the "scruffy with no real style but I have a damn good try" section...
Still limping......

i'll have been riding 30 years this xmas, i've never quit. been building old bikes since i dragged my old skyway ta out the shed and finally restored it about 6 years ago. i always ride the one's i restore at least once at the skatepark just to see how it handles, (all have felt shite so far.) new school riders all the way for me.

Built my first one (NOS Aero Reflex build) and rode it as soon as I could; in the kitchen, back yard, village, Blackpool Skate City........ and am gagging to ride it again very soon.  :daumenhoch:

Caught the bug and started an OS build to banish the envy of my riding childhood; a 1980 DB Pro Large in custom colours.  :smitten:

Bought a beautiful semi finished project (Haro Invert, thanks Pickle :daumenhoch:) to complete and (hopefully) sell to an old mate who is gagging to get involved since he learnt I was rolling again.  ;)

Looking for a longer F&F (early Haro) to swap out my Aero Reflex (which will then be show mounted on the wall) as I am already fed up of catching my feet on the front wheel and silly chainstay standers.  :D

But ultimately my route back in was for the love of riding, and fook it is brill' to be back!  :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

... and at the risk of being accused of being wet / soft / sloppy / gay..... the best bit is that I have made some great new friends and acquaintances as a result!  :4_17_5:
