There's a few things that "TrickyDicky" (site webmaster) has been doing to try and smooth a few bumps out with the site / speed things up / reduces crashes etc.

Most of it was discussed here :

It's a shame that the names have gone from the top of the threads but I think he's working on a fix for the original issue that prompted this change and then hopefully they'll be back.
