What colour streetbeat?
« on: May 16, 2006, 09:41 AM »
Gents,

Thinking about getting a set of Streetbeat F&F but what colour???

There seem to be alot of green ones floating about and my Haro is green so I'd rather go for something different.  What colour do you suggest/recommend or should I get one raw and spray it something a little different???

Cheers in advance

I suggest you get a raw one and have it sprayed/powdered.

If you need some ideas, do a search in the freestyle section for streetbeat shoot-out. There you will find links to the VBMX competition, which has streetbeats of all colours. :daumenhoch:

the 2 colour style that skyway did looked really good

for some inspiration have a look on vintagebmx.com - find the streetbeat shootout thread

although i have a feeling that tasteless chrome wheeled thing won.
it wouldnt win in the UK!

It did win. I didn't vote for it once, but you know - they love a bit of bling don't they.

Personally I voted for this one :smitten:

now that looks really nice.
although the position of the levers suggests it was built by someone who has never ridden a bmx.

that is the 2 tone style i am thinking of stace. copy that one! (but omit the green stripe - white would be better)

SWEET!

What year did the two-tone come in, I don't remember them??

Anyone got a list (or know where I can get one) of the colours / schemes that Skyway did??

Thanks
Stacy

i think the 2 tones were the second generation bikes, in 1986

as for colours, just choose 2 that go well together and it will look hot!

there are some here http://www.vintagebmx.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=008419

there should be a bunch of threads in the old school freestyle section somewhere. but that forum is too slow to use.

sure I photoshoped one of Dave's in different colours once, I'll see if I've still got them somewhere, if I remember electric blue looked good.

I have an almost complete set of '85 decals in purple/white for the green or orange frames. The set is complete except for the seat tube decal, as it's for a streetstyler. PM me if you're interested :daumenhoch:

dont do it all one colour though

use a different colour for the wheels, grips, seat.
