hehe.. Only today I was telling girl mate about pads. She asked why my bike had pads and I said exactly that: back in the day, for about 3 days, everyone thought pads would add protection incase we feel. On the 4th day, we all realised it was shite and promptly burnt them before we were spotted "padded up" and presumed to be a gay-lord (80s speak).Nearly 30 years later and we all love them because of their retro appeal Paul
i've always thought pads look great on a racer, but not really for a freestyler.
Always had the pads on. I did race though.
Er, no we didn't all chuck them - most people I knew had them, definitely anyone that even occasionally raced.I can't believe how bothered some of you seem to be about what other people thought I've even got my NS race cruiser padded-up.
