well, without a lid maybe he would have smashed the back of his head on the concrete. But maybe also without lids both riders would have felt less indestructable and looked where they were going and taken repsonibility for the welfare of themselves and other park users.

This is more a case for eye tests than wearing helmets. :)

nope, probalby not, but they might, just might, be more aware. it's that age old arguement, something is better than nothing but that something might give a false sense of security!

for the record I never turn a pedal with out my p!ss pot. :)

The kids in that vid shoudl wear their glasses/lenses though!

The lad who dropped in didn't check, or look where he was going.  A well deserved smack to the head.

the old saying for motorcyclists is you buy a £10 helmet for a £10 head so if you don't value yourself or don't care about the ones that love you don't wear one :yahoo_silent:

ill be buying one soon but not sure about getting a full face one.  Someone on here a few days ago posted a vid of one of their mates wearing a helmut (not full face) and landing chin first - looked frickin horrific!

So, whats the views on full face protection??

Paul

If there is one thing that is absolutly certain about bmx it`s that one time or another, whether it`s your fault or not, you will have a crash, there is no other thing about bmx that is more certain, so best wear something that protects you for when that time comes  :daumenhoch:

Treated my self to a new piss-pot lid today, TSG/OAKLEY superlight. Lives up to it's name.
Both my kids are pretty good at wearing helmets at the skatepark. One was lucky the other week, His mate flew out the ramp doing some Briflip with his scooter and hit my son on the head :uglystupid2:
Lucky he had his helmet on :daumenhoch:

like Brett said ... full face all the time for me ... when I started riding again all the 'kids' didn't have helmets so I didn't bother.

But I got one incase I needed it... wore it to the track the first time I went... good job.

Crashed... smacked me head...broke my collarbone... knocked myself out... but my face would have been a mess and I would have smacked my head without it.

Best advice is get a modern helmet that fits well... so light you hardly even know after a while.
Just do it.
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
