Well,

Took me a while as I've been busy at work.

Pads have arrived and gone on.

Chains gone on.

Handle bars nudged back a touch as suggested above.

Wheels could be whiter, a project for another day!

After much searching and patience, finally found the right shape layback (cost a fortune though as its NOS and Rickman branded!). I think it needs to sink in deeper, there's a decal in the way which I need to strip off, although, have been hesitant in removing the brand name and devaluing it!

Apart from the need to tuck the rear brake cable inside the centre pad, I think she's finished?

I'm well chuffed with the end result and it's been well worth it.

come out well that has mate.
i would'nt put the post down no more though. looks right there.
maybe tilt the seat down a touch at the front though to get it level.

Well done mate. I have enjoyed reading this resto thread. The bike looks great. I would reposition the brake levers though. They are sticking up a bit after you pulled the bars back.

that looks absolutely lovely mate!A top restoration and big respect for bitd spec authenticity.It reminds me of my first freestyler,a DRAGON FREESTYLER in white,was very heavy though!how is the falcon weight wise?it doesnt look light!i was going to suggest a trik-top seat much like the one in ronsters pic.it would be very fitting with the bike,im sure they had something like that on originally'they are cheap on the bay.

Just caught up on this thread and for your 1st resto this is as good as it gets in my opinion

Great read from start to finish and detail is spot on fella.

Everyone involved has also done a great job

forgot to say those mags look way better than my attempt to bleach some acorns!they just stayed beige!i had them in for 3 days and the plastic was getting soft so i gave up.yours look good though!

Could use some advice, the cups and possibly bearings that pop into the wheels i.e. the axle is developing surface rust as is the freewheel. What are the chances of getting hold of some NOS versions of those?

The freewheel seems unique to the wheel as it has slots (i think five of them) that slot into the ridges of the wheel? $:-\$

yeah they are in pretty good shape, I had to buy a complete donor bike to get my hands on them, they seem to come up very rarely on the bay. The last set that came up recently went for nearly as much as I paid for the entire donor bike!

you're absolutely right, it's not that light, it wasn't a top end bike bitd but it was the bike that I owned and so I was driven by sentiment more than anything else!

The seat as I remember it was the same style as the Aeroyal i.e. had the slits as this one but I think had BMX written in the sides and was less bulky and square. Will keep and eye out for one.

well i did and proud to be part of it

but the awsome resto for me is all the attention to detail, it's the

wheels, brakes, pads decals ect and the rebuild, that's the part i'm not involved in and always blown away

by the final build and the effort you guys make to get it as perfect as this child hood memory that drove

exactly the same as my bike mate,you cant put a price on memories!keep at it,youll find what you want eventually although i sometimes think its harder to find parts for a bike like yours!
