Kuwahara Question
« on: May 04, 2011, 09:59 PM »
Hi to all of you, looking for some good advice on a Kuwahara  I have had since I was a child, it has the serial number T2L followed by a few numbers. Is there anyone who could tell me what I have lerking in the garage. Its all original  apart from the bolts in the chain spoket and the tyres have had it.
thanks in advance to all of you

Very early laserlite. Nice. I just sold one to the kuwahara myth. Not many about, made in December 1982, the first production of it, I had the 5th one made. They changed it to round tubing and trx forks in 83, then stamped it everywhere in 84. I think these were Europe only, and you should do nothing more than clean it, proper bit of old school you have. Might be specced lower than a kz83, but nobody really knows if it came with 400's in 82, not enough of them around. they made the nova/survivor in 83, maybe that's the 82 vesion of it. A good clean and polish, bit of grease and maybe new grips and a pad set and you're done.

Perfect old school bike. Wipe it over and put some air in the tyres and off you go.

You will make many of us jealous on here with that level of originality!  ACE!

Try the RADBMX Shop for tyres, Tioga did a re-issue of the skinwall Comp 3 and they may still have some, brake blocks can be picked up int he for sale threads here or off eGay; try and Koolstop Continental or OG Dia Compe ones  :daumenhoch:.
