48 Spoke on a DP freestyler
« on: May 04, 2011, 03:12 PM »
Now starting to track down parts for my DP freestyler GL build and I am asking you guys what your thoughts would be on a set of Araya super 7 48's with Peregrine hubs, or are they too new?????

I am going to ride this when its complete as I do with all the bikes (although not to any extremes  :LolLolLolLol:) and I am trying to do it as cheaply as possible (like that's going to happen)

What do you think?

Super 7xs are sweet wheels I had a set on my Haro when I built it and they are awesome :daumenhoch: and better to ride that 36spokes but they are not era correct. They are from 1991 but what the hell it is your bike and the look the mutz nutz. Get the fitted. Peregrine 48s are more era correct as they are about 85ish and beyond. I will try and find a pic of my master with a pair fitted.   :daumenhoch:

Spokes all the way for me :4_17_5:

Your bike your rules  :daumenhoch:

I think Peregrines would look good on it  :coolsmiley:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Nice wheels Brett, I was thinking of going down the wheel building route, Hubs £45 Rims £75 spokes and nipples £20 gotta be cheaper than a mint set of 7X or alloy hub tuffs.

sounds good... get some decent new school tyres like the FIT FAF that Stodgy has as well and it will ride a dream.

See people riding Skyways and spongy tires and it makes it twice as hard for them to do anything ( talking to you Woz  ^"^ )

BUILD IT TO RIDE IT  :smitten:

I've got a set of Peregrine 48 HP wheels with the Fit tyres ... they verrrrnyce

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

WANTED : Victor DX 9/16 spindle or pedal

I think they look to beefy though Ed and with the DP's slender frame work it would look like a monster truck!  :P
