Old School Pics - 1984
« on: April 22, 2011, 05:04 PM »
1984 saw the demise of my PK Ripper (cracked behind the bottom bracket :() and the timely hook-up of a sweet chrome GT Pro Performer from my local bike shop courtesy of a kind gentleman at the GT distributors. It wasn't long before I was putting it through it's paces.  :)

Nice pics, love the 360 Tailspin and some pretty nice air on a skinny ramp!

Aerostylie,I'd forgotten that you had that photo. The ramp that's in that photo was designed by Andy Preston's dad, of all people. He was a real tecnician. They were just 5 feet wide, portable and came with a curved trick ramp that sat on the quarter pipe when it was lowered. I got the council to order 2 of 'em for demos and coaching sessions we used to organised for kids around Manchester. It was a special time for bmx in Manchester in the early to mid eighties.
Here's a couple more shots

I didn't know either photographer but strangely enough they both went and got their films developed that day and came back and gave me those photos.... which was nice. :)
