New School BMX advice required
« on: April 28, 2011, 10:33 AM »
Gents.

Just after some advice please :coolsmiley:

I am looking for a new school BMX to buy as a gift for a 10 year old to use on the local skate park.

As it is a gift, it would have to be new rather than used :(

Budget wise I am looking to spend between £300.00 - £400.00 which I hope will get me a good, safe entry level bike?

Any advice or recommendations would be great as I am too old to know anything about new school bikes :buck2:

Thanks for your time and help :)

yes mate thats a nive little runner, good discount too, so even more street cred for him. One thing to note is its a 20.75 top tube, my lads 10 as well and he's got a 20" he's 5ft 2" and its a comfortable length for him, you dont want the lad with his arms at full stretch, although they never sit down nowadays  anyway. Go for it, he'll love it, my lad would and he''s the same age

Contact Dave (Stodgy) at the RADBMX Shop he stocks We The People and can give you some great advice on what other brands are out there

He gives a great service and has some good other people working for him in the shop, if the bike is in stock it can be sent out on a next day carrier service

Fit Bike Co is a good brand and would suit a 10 year old as they have a short top tube this brand is also in stock at the shop

For a 10 year old, you'll need a nice short top tube as Jaymz said.

He'll need a 20" TT or 20.25" max...the reach will be just too long otherwise.

I'd go for the FIT VH1 in Black n Purple for the smaller rider:

Awesome little bike and looks the absolute nuts in the flesh.

Give me a shout at the shop and I can sort you a nice little deal out.
