1983 Chrome Aero Pro
« on: April 24, 2011, 07:12 PM »
Hello all,

I should probably introduce myself as I'm a bit of a newb round these parts.. I've been a member for a while now, but the forum is so vast I often get lost  :-[ I've also kind of guaged you aren't all that keen on Burners, so don't be too damning  ;D

This is my first build, I wasn't even around when these bikes were in production - but there's an affinity with my home town, Nottingham.

Anyway here it is:

Parts rundown:

F&F original chrome
AP V bars (Re-chromed)
Re-pro Raleigh pad set (esemdesign)
Tange 300 headset (recoated black)
NOS OGK Mach grips
NOS DC Tech 2 lever
Re-pro DC Cable
NOS DC Cable Clips
NOS Red Kashimax Aero (dyed black)
Kashimax seat guts (re-chromed)
Koizumi seat post (re-chromed)
Suntour seat clamp (re-anno'd)
Sugino 175mm one piece crank (re-chromed)
Sugino Spider (re-chromed)
Sugino chainring bolts (re-chromed)
Sugino 44t chain wheel (re-anno'd)
NOS SR Custom M pedals (recoated black)
NOS black Suntour Power stem
DC MX900 Caliper recoated, all hardware chromed, new quick release fitted with NOS Weinmann adjuster
Araya Aero wheels (polished), laced to Suntour sealed bearing hubs (original anno)
Re-pro Comp III Yellow label tyres (fat/ thin combo)

I'll hopefully spend a bit more time on here now after I've plucked up the minerals to post  ;D

Cheers,
Tom

And here I am.... the DEFENDER of the Burner Faith...  :LolLolLolLol:

Pete loves these bikes... he's been to more Burner Bash events than any other RADBMX member...  :daumenhoch:

He claim's its to pick up cheap bits and pieces that us uneducated Burner Collectors throw away.. but I've seen the look in his eye when he's surrounded by all that Nottingham High Tensile Steel....   :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

I have an 84 blue max on the go, but not sure how far I want to go with it.. After seeing Glynn's Team Rampar, I'm itching to get an early BMX products frame. Maybe a Motomag. I'm not sure ::)
