CW Bars.......Genuine or Copy???
« on: April 26, 2011, 04:21 PM »
Hey,

Is there any tell tale ways of telling apart genuine CW bars from copy CW bars?

Is there any markings?
Is the knurled section a specific size etc?

All help appreciated!

the knurling on them should be cross hatched knurling plus the welds will be tidy, get some pics up.

Should look like this..............

FRONT:

KNURLING:

WELDS:

There were some with different knurling (2 bands) but I think they were later ones and mostly came on completes. The classic CW that most people are after are like these in the pics. The ones in the pics are pro size but they did different rises.

Nice one, thanks for the info.

The ones I picked up at the car boot with an SR Double bubble stem fitted are copies. The knurled section is not actually knurled but in straight lines!

Still at £4 for the bars and stem they'll be OK for a daily rider or to sell on! :)

Yeh they look more something like Win Pro or Experts. Still not bad for 4quid with a stem. ;)
