About to start the DP GL restoration, need bar help
« on: April 07, 2011, 06:31 PM »
I am about to make a start on my DP Firebird GL restore and need some advice on the bars that were fitted on it when I picked it up, I have been told that they are "Bully Bars" but I don't think that they are era correct, should I spend money on a re powder or look for something else (there is no way I can stretch to DP Ladder bars)

Thanks in advance

Jon

GT pro performer bars are nice or Haro freestyler bars. Haro kneesavers look well on them as well. We could have a GL build of as I start mine this weekend as well ;)

That would be nice Brett but I have not sent my frame of to Dans yet, its got to be "un-chromed" as its shot and I have not got any bits for it either  :LolLolLolLol: I need to raise some serious funds yet, as I am starting this one from scratch  :daumenhoch:
Get some pics up of your build.

Give dns-Paul a shout as he's got some haro freestyle bars that I was going to buy but I'm selling the haro now so no need for them  :daumenhoch:

Judging by the replies the bars are not the ones to go on the DP then  :-\

Haha Brett, I am only just getting into this "era correctness"  Right then, I have a set of rickman freestyle bars freshly chromed, will they do ? And they are  :Great_Britain: just got to replace them with some race bars to go back on my Curtis pro.

I could always strip the Curtis and just keep the frame and forks built up, then use the bits on the DP, I think I would ride the DP more than the Curtis, now there's an idea, I would only need a new front brake and a set of freestyle tyres  :daumenhoch: what do you recon?

sounds like a plan - freestlye bars would look good on the dp and then make the pro more race..  :smitten:

pro class bars or CW'S rock on a curtis - unless you track some original curtis one down.
