ripper brake setup help please.....

hi folks, need a wee bit of advise please..... building my ripper, and i'm trying to use a mx1000 on the rear with a self centering thing..
problem is, the mechanism for the self centering thing touches on the brake bridge and the rear down tubes, obviously the bridge is flat as opposed to the normal round one's, also what do you use instead of the half moon clamps on the flat  bridge
maybe i'm doing something wrong, or have i gotta convert the mx1000 to a normal spindle..

any help always appreciated.  cheers wayne.

cool fins of a skyway brake block,
look good as well.
i went this way with the mx1000, but ended up fitting a pitbull caliper.
better for riding.

no spacer mate, i take it that must be missing then, hence the reason theres a couple of washer on there! still not enough clearance though even with 3 washers on.

Spacer will be about 20mm or so

Put the 2 half moon washers together on the caliper side to make one thick washer?

rite peeps, tried using spacers tonight and it kinda works, although it looks shite, but the pads are miles away from the rim, even with the calliper at the bottom of the bridge slot and blocks rite down..... is this normal, and how did peeps do it bitd! i wanna ride this, so needs to work properly.... please help meeeeeeeeeee.

skyway/koolstop fins either side of the brake bridge 
you should just be able to see them in the pics





even then you have to have the wheel quite a way forward and the brake blocks all the way down

MX1000's arms are a bit short on a Ripper frame unless the wheel is well forward in the dropout. The self centering bit is a bit taller or gets quite close to the dropouts (can't remember now) so makes the problem a bit worse. The original spacers were the half round ones but they had special shaped holes in them

I swapped my self centering spindle for an earlier one and spaced the caliper so it just clears the frame. Allow for a bit of brake flex though.

you could always use penny washers from the local hardware store

not really a big fan of washers mate i'll make a little ally spacer at work.

neither am i but didn't know you could knock somthing up at work

I've got a pair of skyway ones you can have mate, i'll drop em in with the spokes if you like, need stripping though, I glass painted them red and then didn't use them.
