Customs Charges letter
« on: March 27, 2011, 12:42 PM »
Has anyone had one of these before  ???  ..  I bought a Robinson cruiser F+F bars and post ...  I bought the Bars and post through ebay so he could print out the Lable with the cost on them, then payed through paypal for the F+F  that were in another auction.. ( to try and save on import charges)  ..  I got this letter on friday  :tickedoff:

If i print and send them the invoice for the bars and post ,The description says " Robinson cruiser bars and post " that Could mean its whats in the box  ie F+F bars and post.. but if they search the ended item on ebay it only shows the bars and post ...    what the fook do i do ...    ???

If i send them the invoices for both its gonna cost a fooking mint ..  :'(  :'(

How do they know you bought the item?  Can't you just tell them it's a gift from a friend with a value of  $20?  ???
Did the sender not put a value on the parcel..? is that why you got that letter?

never had one of them forms b4 Carl. usually the post office pays the customes charge, send you a letter at a cost of £8 + the customes charge. Are you sure thats an official form? can you ring the post office at Liverpool and check to see if they have your parcel? If that letters "real" and customes are holding your frame forks etc think this time your gona have to be up front and honest , bite the bullet and pay t he charges ... gutted for you pal if you do cop the full charges  :'(

They are asking for original invoice so looks like you are fooked !!!! BUT why not get the chap to send you a letter saying they were a gift and you paid nothing for them apart from the shipping  :daumenhoch:

Makes you laugh, companies legally evade tax all the time yet they have the resources to pursue the little man in the street; go figure  :idiot2:

Shite that Carl mate  :(

Imported loads of stuff from the states (not just BMX) for over 10 years now and never seen anything like that  :(

I reckon you may just have to be honest on this one and take the hit - deffo find out what the guy says he marked on the form first though  :daumenhoch:

Good luck mate !

I had one of these about 18 months ago when I bought some araya rims from the states, just filled it in and sent them a copy of the invoice for them from ebay and received them with no problems, however the original seals on the package had been broken so they had obviously had a look inside to see what was in there.

Never had one again so maybe its just down to being unlucky and getting a spot check.
