As it happens, there was a bit of a centre parting going on,  had 'Rob the Viking' as an occasional nickname  ;D

Shaved my head a couple of years later when I started playing Street Hockey. Too damn hot with all that barnet.

Is that a bottle of whiskey under your arm Rob?

Fair to say mate, i'm a good 4 stone heavier and have a lot less hair on my head than i did in the mid 80's. Too be honest i'm 3 stone heavier than i was in 1999.

Ha HA!!   Nah mate, no whisky.  I'm basically teetotal.  In fact, a proper straight edge as it happens  :)

Hmmmm....... 1980 - 10.5   stone.  Bmx followed by fairly serious street hockey.
1990 - 10.5   stone.  Start bodybuilding in order to gain weight, change diet drastically.
1994 - 12.5   stone.  Return to BMX, ride, ride, ride. Eat, eat, eat.
2000 - 14.0   stone.  Give up BMX again. Eat, eat, eat.   ;) ;)
2004 - 16.5   stone.  Eat, eat, eat some more. End of year - return to BMX again.
2005 - 13.75 stone.  Ride, ride, ride!! eat a little bit.......

Moral of the story?  Getting old sucks.  Don't stop riding!  ;D

Oh yeah,  if you want to lose weight make sure you eliminate from your diet (as much as possible) all bread, fizzy drinks of all types and all readymade microwave meal thingies.

I guarantee it will work. Or your money back  ;)

Job's a good 'un.

Pretty much the first thing Billstupp said to me after not seeing me for 20+ years was an insult about my weight...

That was just an observation Rob, the insults havn`t started yet  ;D
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Yeah its not that hard. Went to Allans old school event two years ago and managed miami hoppers, surfer ,cherry picker , front hops and the flip over the bars on a borrowed bike . got all the tricks first go .never did that bitd. Not to shabby for a 16 stone 40 year old.

nice one!!!

i guess with the flip its just a case of trying it the first time.

i remember seeing brian scura do it, on some tv show.
back then it was called the "scura tuck"

before it somehow became the freeman flip (i think action bike named it that)

Yeah I remember scotty Freeman from the kerb dogs saying he got the trick from scura. Anyway if anybody asks me to do a trick thats the one I do as it seems to impress but is one of the easiest tricks if it is a trick. .i first did it in Andy Prestons garden about 84.
