Tech 2 levers - the right bars
« on: April 01, 2011, 02:28 PM »
Afternoon.

I fancy using a tech 2 on my next build, but I remeber that as an 11 year old, you couldnt reach the lever when attached to most sets of handle bars!

Do they go well on particular bars?

Can anyone recommend a set that they would work well on?

Thanks a lot.

Dan

Good question :coolsmiley:
I think Tech II's look good on V-Bars but wouldn't know which would work best :-\

Thanks a lot lads, and great pic.

I have a set of battered win cw expert bars so I'm going to experiment by cutting them down slightly.

If they're not right I'll go for some nice v bars.

Cheers

WIN  V-BARS works well on my PRO BURNER - you need a nice curve on the elbow for it best to work  ;)  it looks strange but are easy to use and grip with two fingers

looks totaly wrong imo, tech 2s should be parallel or almost, to the grip part of the bar, see my pic of me on my ACE bitd

I've got them on my Robinson.
They would be better if I cut the bars a little but the bars were NOS and I don't think I would ever forgive myself!?!

Also, Renthal bars have a very similar geometry and size to the Robinson bars so I'd imagine they would work well on those too.

How do they look above the crossbar?

....like BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN's Pro Burner I'd imagine.
I'm not keen in the look of them when they point down like that but prefer them to be parallel to the grips. I know you can adjust them and reduce the angle, but I'm not too keen on that either!?!

I was thinking closer to the crossbar than Bendy's ones  :-\

Brilliant response to the thread cheers.

In order of preference I think it's got to be renthals (I think they would look great on a Curtis anyway), Proclass (they look a bit like Curtis Pro's), Redline V bars, or the Cw's.

Off for a week riding me big wheeled bike in the sun now so I'll ponder it.

Thanks again.
