will I be excused considering I'm sitting on the bike?

just to give you a quick update - Team RAD's current total (including fund matching and gift aid) is a whopping £1559.23! Not bad for a few eejits on children's bicycles...

there's still time to sign up btw  ;)

Quick update for anyone that's interested - Team Rad's current total is £2,314.23 for the L2B run :)

89 days left until our little adventure, so still plenty of time to join up / do a bit of fundraising

i did this on a Torker in '92 & it wasn't that bad. OK we did it with the heart foundation lot but it was easier than we thought it would be & tbh if you hadn't had to ride near 50 miles to get to it the beacon would be do-able (almost!)
we did it in under 5 hours & that included stops for nosebleeds etc as i was a bit dehydrated from the all day sesh the day before  ::)

I knew it all along, but public transport is fooking shite

did a bit of research today to try and sort out a train time to get to Clapham Common from my nearest station (Bracknell or Wokingham) on the Sunday morning
reckon we'll need to be setting off pretty early so was aiming to get there for about 8:00
Turns out there isn't one  ::) The train website helpfully suggested getting one at midnight (overnight stay in South London park...? )

Best option I found is to drive 11 or so miles to Slough and then get on the 6:46 to Paddington
Since my Haro is not a folding bicycle it looks like I'll also be banished from the tube line that goes to Clapham Common

Ho-hum, should change the page I set up to 60milesonaBMX I suppose  ;D
What time are the rest of Team RAD expecting to get there?

Ok, I,m not a hardcore member on the Radbmx forum but would love to join in. Just dusted of an old supergoose 2 , just needs a seat and to be built up. Just pulled out of a 5 day stage race the week before, so need something to aim for. Where do I sign up properly for the ride and were do I put money raised ?

Might wimp out and have bibshorts on under my "normal" shorts  ;)

Cant get myself to put a water bottle holder on a BMX, so will be a rucksack job...

Been a prat, just found the link to the charity page...sorry too many head injuries.

found the links anyway now so just in case anyone else needs it
This link http://www.doitforcharity.com/doitforcharity-cycle-ride-2011.aspx?c=4371&ad=charitypage should take you straight to registration to raise money for Pickle's hospital (which is a great cause) but if you want to do it for another charity there's loads to choose from at http://www.doitforcharity.com/difc-london-to-brighton-cycle-2011.aspx

Once you sign up get a justgiving page and it can be linked to the Team Rad group page ;)
http://www.justgiving.com/teams/BMXlondontobrighton

Trying my best to get there for an 8:30 start (depending on public transport)

Thanks Griff, should just about be able to make MK on the Sunday, hope to catch up with some old faces there and some of you loons that want to ride 56 miles on a small wheeled bike.

Might let my supergoose 2 go and build up my unused repo Kuwi KZi I bought when living down under. Worth trying to sell frames at MK ?....safer than the bay of evil ?
