Author Topic: HERSDEN APPEAL TO ALL OLD SKOOL RIDERS (Read 4762 times)

You may have seen elsewhere, that it was possible that Hersden would drop the Old Skool class for 2011. It has been confirmed that the class will run this year, but we need as many RADSTERS support as possible.
Back in 2007, we had two big meetings on the small track and got a massive buzz, when so many riders took part. It would be great if we could near to those sort of numbers. We already have Ratty, Andy Heath on board, as well as the returning Zippy and a few more.

So if you have an Old Skool bike, want to race in a friendly atmosphere on a brand new track, then we are going to be there on Sunday 3rd April with registration closing at 12.30pm

WE NEED YOU !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for confirming that we have a class Tone, i think after last years and previous years support it was a shock to us all to see the class may go

I think so far we have

Ratty
Zippy
Delray58
Spike
Kaner
Medaved
Mrs Ratty
Humps (only a couple of rounds

)

there's quite a few others too who have said they're in but a few vinos has left my mind blank

and i may even ride if Andy lets me borrow his best show pony

It would be great to have a bigger show at Hersden and really doesn't take too much to do it.

It's a lot of fun and you don't need any skill; I can prove that I'm rubbish! Also it's great to use these bikes we all spend so much time building and talking about! It's what they are made for.

So why not come down, have a practice, have some banter and a roll around the track on your favorite bike with some good friends.

I've just booked my usual guesthouse for the weekend of 3rd April and I reckon I might survive cruisers AND Old Skool. So, put me down for last place in both classes.

And if there are any newbies on here thinking they can take my last place from me, just bear in mind I've had that privilege for the last five years or so, so don't go getting any ideas about taking it from me!!

Come on the rest of ya, old or new, beginner or ex pro lets make this a cracker down at Hersden.
It may well be the last Old School racing series in the South.
Remember its an acceptable track for Old School bikes, a fantastic atmosphere and great for the kids.

Ill try and get my brother there but that will mean i have to supply him with a bike to smash up. Ive mentioned the London to Brighton to him and he is up for that if i get him a bike.
Oh and he can't play that less dangerous than Bmx game called Football anymore after breaking his leg badly the idiot. Im not doing Bmx anymore as its too dangerous

OK guys take a good look at it because it'll be somewhere behind you on 3rd April. Bit of a mix of parts but meets the criteria of 1" threaded headset (OK I know it's a Chris King) and appropriate brake (as useful as a chocolate teapot) but at least I'll be out there. Will you?? It's one that I've always taken to be '91 as that's the date on the downtube where the sticker shows '72-'91. Not seen another like it but got it off Ratty many moons ago when the OS Series started and I wanted a longish TT - it's 20.5" so still a tad short for a lardy old git like me. Humps
