CHAIN TENSIONERS
« on: February 09, 2011, 09:37 AM »
I have just change the gearing on my bike from a 30x12 to 28x12. Just one bad thing the wheel spindle is almost hanging out of the rear
wheel stay. So i wondered would cahin tensioners do anything & how do they work ??

have done, if i take 1 out its right up against the drop out & the chain is too tight. With the
right the amount of links, the spindle is just hanging over the drop out by about 3mm.

Why are the drops out so damn short nowadays, they never use to be  :tickedoff:

someone as told me to buy a half link chain, would this make a difference

yes as a half link gives you more adjustability due to the links being smaller  :daumenhoch:

This allows you to adjust your existing chain

Your choice of gearing isn't helping much

With 28t up front you want 10t at the back...  :daumenhoch:

For your 12t driver you want 33t up front if you wanna be equal (or thereabouts) to 44/16

25/9
28/10
30/11
33/12
36/13
38/14
41/15
44/16

2 minutes turkish...
