I think the most important thing is to make sure the fabric isn't too thick or you'll have folds and gathering issues as you wrap it round the edges of the seat.

Go down to a local fabrics store or craft/hobby shop and they should have something that will suit

If you find the stuff in a fabrics store where it's usually on massive rolls they'll probably let you take a "sample" that will be big enough to cover the seat anyway
