Priming chrome for painting

whats the best thing to do to chrome before you paint over it?

you could get it 'aqua blasted' - some powder coaters do it.

 or its rough paper and elbow grease..

had mine blasted at the powder coaters, couldn't work out after whether it'd been taken back to the original steel or if the chrome had just been kind of pitted, but it did the job

  it just pits the chrome - only way to remove chrome is to reverse the chroming process.

Alright Dan... its a budget 'can can' job - gonna have to hit it with the rough paper then etch primer

I'm with Dan 

I'd give a light sand and etch primer  ( only because I haven't got a blasting tank  )

I first used etch primer , when struggling to paint plastics on my cars , it's famtastic stuff , wouldn't use owt else
