Can they be saved???
« on: May 04, 2006, 05:14 PM »
Got a very good nick pair of Tange ARX forks which have been stripped of the first 1 1/2" of thread. is there any way they can be repaired. I figured that a shim of some sort could be welded on and rethreaded but is it actually possible and if so what would it cost and where would I go to get it done?

Am I better off buying another pair £35 + shipping?

You'd be better off cutting the whole top section off, and welding on a full size one off a pair of doner forks. Someone will have a scrap set somewhere.
