Author Topic: 91 Haro Sport project, THE OTHER ONE....PAGE 7 (Read 23907 times)

Lucky me got my hands on a NOS 91 Haro Sport frame, only downside is its missing the forks and out of all the colours available for this bike its the only one that doesnt float my boat.

So I will be very carefully removing the decals and sending them off to Del for reproducing, would like them back on the bike when finished but with colouring to match the fresh coat of powder it will be getting from the lovely SBD.

Parts that will be going on this are either NOS or minty and they include,

Haro Group 1 Stem
Haro Kneesavers
Tech 77 Levers
AME Grips
Peregrine Semi Pro Wheels
Peregrine HP-48 Tyres
Dia Compe Nippon Front Caliper
Odyssey Pitbull Rear Brake
Viscount Dominator Seat
Haro Fusion Seat Clamp
Redline Flight Cranks

Really looking forward to getting this one done as I've always wanted one of these, lets hope I can keep it longer than 5 minutes unlike my previous rides......

what colour are you going for robbo ?always liked that gun metal rather than the lime that they did also

Hmm, the original colour is a bit wishy washy for my liking guys. Would like to keep it original but I would never be happy with it, I'm going black like my old Master with bright decals.

Rob after seeing it now, i'd say keep it all original colour, get some chrome forks on it perhaps, looks mint mate

not a fan of 90s decals tbh, but really like the original colour!

whatever you decide to go for robbo sure it will look the nuts - keep the pics coming

thats john buultjens you've been talking to on the museum, he's a mate of mine originally from dundee now living in oz. he's got the best collection of factory spec haro's i've ever seen. i would go for either black or a neon colour on your build, was never too keen on the grey myself.

Robbo, seriously. You have a NOS frame, in it's original colour. Why would you change the paint?
I agree, it's not the most desirable colour, I don't much like what Haro optimistically called "Platinum" lol but it's a NOS frame...

Personally I couldn't change it, but it's your ride!

I would like to like this colour and it doesnt look bad but Im not sure, I want it to have the same look and colouring as my old Master below.

The Sport may be NOS but it does have a few storage marks so its not mint and Im a bit fussy when it comes to finish.

just seems crazy to strip a NOS original frame.......and you can probably kiss goodbye to ever getting those decals again! infact i've never seen a set for sale at all!

I've got 2 of these frames, the other for a mate and I've done a good job of removing the decals on his frame, Del will be having a look at them to reproduce a custom set if I decide to strip the other.

I've got some forks coming, maybe I could get the bars and forks powdered black first and see how it looks, if I dont like it get Dan to do the frame then.....

That´s really a little bit violent to stripp off the original paint.

I have now the opposite problem: I am looking for the colour # of the Haro Master green:

Why not build it as it is and stay on the lookout for a dog-rough example to have powdered at a later date?

Nowt stopping you tansferring all the bits to the powdered one when it is done and passing the NOS one on to someone who wants a NOS grey frame...

Ok tonight I've partially set it up using some parts from another build I'm doing, still not 100% on the colour but I think if the forks and bars where black it could look good.

Yeah but ignore the wheels, the Peregrines to go on it are a matt silver finish so wont be as bling.

personally I keep the bars chrome and go with the lime green/yellow fromthe decals for the forks... kind of like that black and orange sport ( I think ) that Spesh had.
