project nearly done
« on: January 16, 2011, 02:33 PM »

this has been with me for about 4 months waiting for resto and im finally getting there
the frame and forks are tommy brackens pro xxl (same as the chrome one i have )it came from the usa and was in bad wqay .some engineering has been carried out behind and to the bottom bracken then it has been powdered white .the frame number on this beauty is x003 making it the third one ever made and the x denotes tommy brackens made this frame himself when he started to produce the frames instead of white bear (who also made freeagent i believe )produdcing them for him .my other frame is quite a bit later and this one has only onbe difference really the rear dropouts are half the thickness (more old school) than the later ones that i have .it has 21.5 inch top tube and dates around late 88/89 i reckjon from what i can make out .
i have built it using rideable parts similar to the other one as i will be racing this also
parts rundowm.:
tommy brackens frame and forks
tange headset lock
dk square corner short reach 40mm stem
bars at moment are s&M slams (this is why it isnt finished im waiting on set square top tube brackens bars powder coating hopefully nest week)
then i will fit blue jive grips
big ass sealed bb set chrome crankset
profile 44t chainirring
oddy triple trap pedals
hinged seat clamp
fluted seat post ansd railed clamp adaptor (think this is sr)
s&M seat
wheels are front suntour low flange hub
rear prolite sealed hub lboth laced to mid school (1988) sun m25 rims
tyres are new school better for using /raciong
rear brake is dia compe big dog caliper (probably best old school caliper ever )

as said just waiting for the bars to turn up and then over to the decal master for stickers putting on .

Nice Greg

Not keen on the seat/post combo, try that one hanging in the background (1st pic) i'm sure it'll look better

Thought you were going blue with this one. There is a thread over on ozbmx in the mid school section on a brackens pro xl.
