Some of the manchester lot have been in touch!!

The track and berms are now dry (some frozen puddles cleaned up) and I dont think the they'll be much moisture in the air overnight so it will be cold and hard tomorrow but ice free especially on the berms so it shouldn't be slippy.

I was told to wrap up warm though...................as it was fooking cold!!

Bring plenty of layers!!

was thinking about tyres now i've seen the track      got comp 3 type on at the mo but was thinking about something a bit smoother rolling,  didn't want to get to far away from the os vibe ,   what about holy rollers?  defo no advantage to swapping from a rider point of view because i'm useless

Don't get too hung up about wrecking  the OS vibe. Moley is the most vigilant OS Policeman  and he uses New School tyres every time. 


...having said that I've been using comp III's - they are fine. Just make sure you put plenty of pressure in them - I usually have at 60 psi (ignoring the max psi warnings) but I believe some o the chaps go higher (70+)...

...having said that I've just changed to Primo Dirt Monsters for a tad more speed...

...having said that I've ridden on the DMs once and on that occasion broke my leg.

comp 3,s all the way dude,slightly worn in the middle ones are best,plenty pressure

  RVR will be bringing an original member along,give him a dig and he might even race OS this season.Air-ram,lights etc now ordered,gate under construction and OS welcome at Heywood anytime.

Unfortunately Andy Roberts will receive Nil points due to riding a New School MTB and everyone else behind Andy will move up one place.    We dont mind you riding with us..............but this is an OS BMX Series and your bike isn't even a BMX let alone OS legal.   Its not even an OS MTB wth a 1" headset.

Dont be soft lad get your Haro built up and if you dont want to race 20" then an OS Cruiser will do!! 

I'll try and sort the Official OS results/standings website this week.............after I've finished editing all of the footage.   

Old Skool and Payback footage is converting and will be uploaded overnight.   It should be ready to view in the morning.

He had an OS early 1980's GT 20" that he let his daughter ride.   I asked him why he wasn't riding it and he said it was too sketchy.

He said he had some other OS bike(s) lying around and he was gonna sort it out but he said he wouldn't race it and that he'd stick to his MTB.

If he turns up an the next round wanting to race his MTB then we should direct him to the 16+ Novices or a NS Cruiser class.

Its not even that he was a bad rider.   Even on an MTB I couldn't have come 4th.

OS is all about sketchy riding.  The rules are clear.   1" headset and caliper brakes.     An old MTB with a 1" headset and Caliper brakes would even get into the OS Class.    GT did a GT 26" in the late 70s/early 80's.   Plenty of room in the rules for bending and fudging but a NS MTB is a bridge too far!! 

Old School is not about the rider....................you can be young/old or male/female and its not about ability........we dont discriminate against any person wanting to race Old School......................................but we do discriminate against the bike.
