This was my 1st BMX and was very light.

They were quite rare so when someone else had one around town there was a connection! I love the old school BMX's.

Horrible thing. He used to 'ghosty' it into walls to knock them down.

iron horse

remember them well.they were cheap cheap.....and heavy! still a good old 80's bike though....iron horse make decent full suss downhill bikes now

The guy who used to manage my LBS when I live in Surbiton left to work for Iron Horse, maybe this is why

I never really like there MTBs, I think the name just sounds $hit

Jim Walker (hailsham) is the co that distro'd them, so I guess thats where "worzel" went, they now do Sunn MTB instead of Iron horse so perhaps he's on with that . I think Chainreaction bought all the remaining Iron Horse stock and sold it online at really keen prices, I never was keen on em, they got good reviews though.

Different firm with same name. The maker of this went bump before 90's. Retro 2fuk. rare too

Why oh why is it necessary to call a bike a pos. If it has lasted this long against all the haros, hutch's, vdc's et al, then it really cant be that bad...and if it was cheap bitd, then so much more good it is for lasting against far more expensive kit.

be kind, not negative because of 'personal preference'.

Its probably lasted because it was not used

or used for doing a paper round

If it had been raced or used for freestyle it would not have lasted longer than a better made frame

The percentage of 'bmx's' that were used for proper freestyle or racing was probably minute compared to the numbers sold back in the 80's. Loads of kids (myself included) only ever used them for bombing around with their mates and jumping off kerbs. This was my first BMX, so holds many memories. Mine was identical to the one at the start of the thread, but had yellow acorns instead.

Good times were had, and not a race track or quarterpipe to be seen.

Very true... I can well remember that we had to use bricks and a plank of wood as a ramp... half-pipes and quarter-pipes were for the privileged kids back in the 80's!!!
