Last week i got another message from someone who remember that i was planning to do a interview with Rich Hutchins Jr about Hutch BMX.
I talked with Rich in December 2008 around Christmas time via messenger.
His dad, Richard was there too for the holidays.
Both of them tried to answer my questions as good as possible.
The talk is not completed and after the holidays there was no possibility to finish it.
After a long time I got permission to publish it on my site (promissed not to that before Rich gave me his permission).
Then it took again long time to put it on the site....after several messages during all that time from interested people.
Enjoy reading and you can write a comment on my message forum for Rich.
I've told him abut the topic and hope he has the time to check it and to reply if he wants.

I forgot to say good work and a huge thanks as there is a lot of effort goes into these interviews and many peeps don't appreciate that, I for one do

fantastic, nice to see,read. Businesses were just that bit more hit n miss then, serial numbers, production etc! still miss my 83 pre-serial pro!

it's when he was involved with Hutch.
we all know they were made also overseas but maybe it was after Rich Jr worked there.

Great interview - very insightful. It's funny how as a kid in the 80's you have this idea that Hutch is a major company with no hiccups etc. Only when you see the real truth do you see that they were probably always trying to catch up with orders and manufacturing processes etc. Still great frames (sad mine got knicked) but it maybe throws some ambiguity on buying second hand ones only going by serial number etc.

wow,good interview,it seams that hutch were in a mucking fuddle pretty much from the start,amazing that they were and are still held in such high esteem.just the name 'hutch' makes me think of 'the best' even 25 years on.
