Don't bother going down the Ti route Greg  :-\

For the cost X weight loss ratio , you can't beat foldable kevlar beaded tyres and light tubes  :)

Anyway Mat Hoffman used to do 24ft airs on a 35lbs plus bike  :D  :4_17_5:

We had a 10yo kid that we sponsored at Heff's who did the same, his dad milled out the insides of the cranks, drilled through the crank axle, did the whole drilled caliper/lever thng, drilled the 1 3/8 rims pro class stylee, drilled the Uni seat all to try to get his bike to under 17lbs; he did it but I think it was risky  :LolLolLolLol:

I'm with Dubber on this one. Big heavy tyres really are not needed for racing and general use. My NS cruiser has a 1.5 Haalo on the back and it's never been short of grip, even with my size and weight. My 20" had a 1.5" tyre on the rear BiTD and I'd have had the same on my cruiser if they had been available then. I might go slightly wider than that if I get some modern lower profile tyres for summer use next year on my NS cruiser.
