Jason Finn, bloody hell....

I've not long been riding trials (I have an old Mont 315), after getting fed up with having MX bikes nicked     :knuppel2:

I had a good session a while ago with Steve Monk - he's a good lad  :daumenhoch:

Anyhow Gordy, I ride almost exclusively with people way younger than me (I'm 44), and the one thing I've learnt over the years is that the vast majority of these kids are completely cool as long as they see you trying hard and not looking down your nose at them.

Get your bike fettled, get padded up and go riding anywhere you like. After a self concious first few minutes you'll be fine  :)

I might see you at Corby, but failing that, give me a shout and come down to Rom for a ride one Sunday morning or summat. I'll show you a few lines round the place that should get you grinning.

TwoBobRob

The 315 was an ace bike, I rode For Montesa from '98 til 2009, they did not miss a beat, I done a World record jump on my 315 in 2003 jumping 23 people with no ramp, give me a PM if you fancy coming to Walderslade for a practise.

Pleas Send my regards to Steve Monk (Monkey)

all the best
-Jas

dont beleve a word jason says he dont realy ride motor bikes  :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

Yep it must be a kid thing.  Ive just bought my daughter a second hand GT for crimbo & we have been to few parks. last week we went to a concrete bowl, i was totally hooked.  Never went on one in may heyday, when i was pretty good  :2funny:.  So i bought myself a bike this week.  cant wait for the weather to dry up & go out on it .  I still have my MK2 haro freetstyle master, all originakl except for the wheels.

Im planning on going to the works indoor park in Leeds, in the next couple of weeks. Cant wait, neither can my daughter shes just as mad on it as i am

Just recently had 2 pack it in which I ain't happy about  :'( May still try from time 2 time but the pain and injuries I am carrying make it not worth it  . Pain outweighs the fun part which is a real shame.  :tickedoff:  used 2 wheelie everywhere  :LolLolLolLol:

you weren't there Brett - it was much worse than the fall that guy with the weak ankle had, honestly  :D
(you only have to look at the state of your grip to imagine just  how bad it really was)

I am seeing the doctor tomorrow, after my massive slip off Bretts pedals at Corby, blood-y ankle not mending. getting too close  to the next sessions for my liking, the comedy effect of having one of Douglas Baders legs has well worn off now!!

And I have now replaced the stolen bikes, but I can't ride em. gutted!

Hi Guy's,
             Yeah i'm riding a little,always had a couple of bmx's rattling around,
Always old school builds till now, found myself owning something through the years,
Bought my 11 year old son a new Haro sport a couple of years back which he still has,
I have a 24" se quadangle in white which i have to say is lovely!
Also have a mid old school Torker which i found interesting as it's aluminium!
I'm in the hertfordshire area, anyone wants a chat ,feel free!

 All the best.

P.s. I'm 40.

Just read this thread and it's got me thinking, I want to come and play  :2funny: when you guys have your "get togethers" at the private sessions ( in the skateparks) and you say it's a "wobble" round, are there people who literally wobble around, as me and my mate would like to come along to a local one but don't want to feel intimidated :LolLolLolLol: I will be 40 in June  ;D and have only just threw my leg back over a 20" since 1985! So you would have to go gentle on us.

Yes we literally wobble, but then you get a bit better and wobble slightly less each time you go :daumenhoch:

Get yourself to a private hire skatepark event - if you can get to Leicester to one of big gay Ed's love-ins, it's a great park for beginners with a gentle jump box and bowl :coolsmiley:
Still limping......

don't worry curtis - being crap is no barrier to attendance (I'm testament to that)

there's quite a lot of sitting and talking bollux in between the wobbling, but so far everyone I've met has been safe as fook
there are some amazing riders too that I've seen, but don't worry one bit about anyone being intimidating  :daumenhoch:

41 this year mate and have just bought a couple of bikes. i was the same as you as we had no skate parks or tracks in wrexham north wales. We built our own ramps and a small track at the back of my mates house back in 82.God i miss them days.Love ramp work and flat land although i was better at the latter lol. I sneek off to the local council skate parks that have cropped up all round wrexham when all the kids are at school. ;D get the places to myself then lol. Took my lad out the other week as he didnt believe i could still pull off a 360 over the tabletop. Can still see his face now after i did it. Makes me feel like a kid all over again..

Having started this post because I too felt a little intimidated by the thought of wobbling around in a skatepark, I have to say that the meet I went to at Corby was fantastic. Riders from all abilities (including me who has none) mixed effortlessly and the whole thing was a top night.  Now if someone could tell me when the next one is I'll be there. Hey - I'm forty, I don't have the energy to look through here for myself!
