Hi Guys,

Got back home yestersday and I'm soooo pleased to be out of Blackpool Hopsitial - it fookin' grim.

Thanks to everyone who sent PM/Emails/Texts to me, you really help keep my spirits up  :daumenhoch:

OK, now to the grim details:

I have broken my tibia and broken & dislocated my ankle. The bone was very close to penetrting my skin and would have done if not for the emergency bone relocation that took place pre-xray in A&E (oh, and they did that about a minute after the gas and air ran out and 5 minutes before an injection of morphene)

They operated on me on Sunday mornig for 2.5 hrs and I have been given a metal plate held with 10 screws. The op has a 80% success rate but if it doesn't work I'll need a bone graft.

I need to keep all weight of my cast/leg for the foreseable and have to keep it elevated (above heart level) whenever practical.  All being well the cast should be off in 6-8 weeks and I should be working normally in 3 months (and "normal" includes a possivle Diggler-esqe limp). I suspect I'll be told to keep off the bike for a good while longer (12 months?)

My frankly amazing wife put the accident down to "one of those things" and has made it clear she's happy for me to ride once I'm able to do so.  I'm not sure I'll be hitting the ramps again but I really want to keep racing.

Once I'm up on my feet I'll get to a couple of races for a natter.

Thanks again for the love guys,

Nada

Sounds nasty James. But glad it went well and you can now concentrate on recovery.

Take it easy bro and hopefully see you at the track somewhere in the new year

Good to see your out of Blackpool.............not many escape!!  :LolLolLolLol:

Tell us how it happened?...................were you distracted by Dubbers firm buttocks or Digglers limp package?..............or did you panic due to lack of oxygen being that far up the ramp?

I'm with you on giving ramps a miss though.     My first time at a skatepark was one I wanted to forget too.

Take it easy lad and I'll drop off all of my spare BMX mags so you have some reading material.

Get well soon!!  :daumenhoch:
