Lever question

Forgive me it there is an obvious answer to my question....but if one is building a bike with a rear calliper only, strictly speaking should one use a left or right side lever?

...or does it not fookin matter?

.....or does if fookin depend on the make of bike that one is building?

for me left side dude but for many right side. i did read that left side was more popular in the uk and right side in us. whichever is more comfortable to you  :daumenhoch:

i always used a right hand one coz i'm right handed.personal choice really.

when theres two levers its always right for front left for rear but with one(rear) peeps tend to put the lever on the right,but it doesnt matter really :coolsmiley:

Personal preference but most are lefty for the rear brake in the U.K.

....as there there would appear to be no set in stone rule....right will therefore suffice as I am right handed :)

I think it is a british standard or something, but all UK bikes come with the right lever as the front, left lever as the rear & I think the rest of the world is the other way round.

I always have the right as the rear brake.

i'm right handed but have always had the back brake on the left, i think the cable routing looks better too if you're using something like mx1000s. i would change sides if i were using 901s tho, especially if using a front brake too.

Just comes down to personal choice........I've got bikes with right and left as it just came down to having one lever. Yes I'm a lazy fooker  :LolLolLolLol:

Here you go, it's some requirement  :)

PBSR requirements
One might suppose that the remaining provisions of this regulation must be comparatively trivial, and so they are. Every new bicycle has to come with:

Any hand-operated brakes arranged left-hand rear, right-hand front
A bell
White or yellow reflectors on both sides of each wheel or tyre
A white wide-angle front reflector, or a front lamp
A red wide-angle rear reflector
Yellow reflectors front and rear on each pedal
The reflectors (or front lamp) required above must be of a specification that is approved by UK Lighting Regulations.

A bike that is sold fully assembled must come exactly so, with all these things fitted as described. But a bike that is sold as a kit, or with some parts un-assembled (perhaps just these parts), merely has to be capable of being assembled like so. In that case it must come with assembly instructions plus any special tools.
