GOOSE needs help with correct decals ?
« on: November 24, 2010, 08:36 PM »
Right Goose fans - I'm stuck !

Got this goose that is needing paint and decals - paint will be yellow - bit like below

So i need some decals for it that will be custom if i can't work out which it needs

D3000295 - April 83'  the brake bridge has only one hole and i think that makes it a normal goose not super ?

I have seen some 83' gooses with the prism decals and the rest with clear background and two-tone colour letters

so what the hell is mine ? are the 83's wrong with prism's - can i use the prism on my 83' ?

can any one help that knows there Goose's ?

It would be a bit easier if the goose in question wasn't different to all the other gooose out there ? some one put a trick stand on it

if i can't work it out in the end it will be a custom decal like - clear back ground like 83' onwards lettering but prism inside the letters and in blue/silver - any one think that will work ?

please help

cheers B  ;)

Fookin LOL Si  :LolLolLolLol:

Seen this puppy before though - old Bendy has had it a while now - keeps promising to restore it but I don't believe him  :yahoo_silent:

Only messin' Bendy mate  ;) :LolLolLolLol:

It's previously been discussed that it's a custom aftermarket jobby as far as the "bonus" tubes go but that doesn't take away it's mad cool factor !  :D

Right then on to your decal question.

For an '83 gusset goose you DO NOT want prism decals - prism decals are only for team/supers/full chromos etc. yours is not.

You need black background gold letter decals for an 83 like so.........

Available from Bill Curtain at BMXproducts : http://www.bmxproducts.com/catalog/index.php'main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=20

 :daumenhoch:

Still don't reckon you'll ever restore it - fookin tease :yahoo_silent:

  :'(

You will be doing it proud with that line up . I ( like my bro Spen69 ) would have rattle canned it whatever colour was left in the shed strapped some grifter bits to it and thrashed it round a track / bowl .

Good luck with it mate , keep us up to date .

P.S if you are buying decals from the U.S i think he charges the same rate for up to 9 sets shipped, so we normally put an add up to see if anyone else is needing decals . ( share the cost  :daumenhoch: ) . Thinnking on i need a set of minigoose decals .

Yep, I need a set of '79 Supergoose decals in storage for when I decide to do my latest 'Goose properly as it's got some Grifter parts and rattle-canned forks (well it will have if Jonnygoose ever makes it up to the 'Goose loft to get them for me!)

Love the mutant by the way - gonna be awesome!

DX are painted not ano'd mate  ;)

Glass paint seems to be the way to go. I started a thread up about a year ago for some people to show their results with glass paint there's a couple of blue sets of DX done in there so worth a quick look:

Ok so i read the thread about glass paint - but was it pinned down as to which is the best and what type   brush or spray

does the pedal need to be polished or just scrubbed up ? - would mirror polish look shite when the blue glass paint is on ? can the stuff be painted to any chrome / metal bits or just alloy

so if there the right decals - what was my goose called in the first place ? just a mongoose ?  does any one have a standard pic ?

will post if i go for the decals  8)

bobafett - you let the cat out of the bag - now you gotta feed it  ;D

cheers  B  ;)

As far as the glass paint is concerned different people have used different products - maybe stick a separate thread up for that.

Your goose model would have been, well, a mongoose  :LolLolLolLol:

It has an 83 serial number so here is an 83 mongoose with those style decals :
