hi all,
ive been on the site for a month or so and its fantastic, i was going to try and stop at two bikes but now im in i think thats going to be impossible!, anyway here is my first build, its been a long time coming and there are still a few bits im not sure about, the brake pads for a start, and the tuffs, ive got a set of ukai blue/silversides which i could get built but im not sure if they would be correct?comments, compliments and constructive criticism please..

Nice build dude...

I'd prefer it with the ukai's though, and loose the front brake, its a race bike...

I can't fault it personally but I'm sure someone will tell you to pull the bars back a bit so I'll save them the bother.

That square corner Tuf Neck is a beaut

- was it NOS and where did you find it?

Sweet build IMO.

Just noticed that the rear blocks are struggling to reach the braking surface on the Tuffs. Taking a link out of the chain should sort that or swap the MX900 for a 1000. (assuming they're 900s)

The bike stand does spoil the pictures a bit so you might be better off using the Rad trick of resting the pedal on a pint glass. Best done on the lawn in case it decides to fall over.

PS. Where's the snow?

thats a beauty first build

personally i would get the ukais on,lose the front brake,and put a straight post on,or keep the tuffs and get some black tyres on,as there is quite a lot of blue round the wheel area

Just change the tuffs for Ukais .

Rippers need a rear mx1000. Looks like that is a 900 which is why its too short.

Lookin' good - nice first build

If you are gonna ride it then the layback post, and new tuffs is all good and the bars forward probably makes it feel a bit more roomy for you - if it's a showy I'd agree with the straight seatpost, bars back to straight upright position (give or take) and try the ukais or go for some earlier tuffs.

Looks real nice though mate - you gotta be well happy with that as a first build

Prefer spokes on a Ripper myself but it's your bike so it's up to you

First build, that's a corker

Love the colours, nice choice of parts too.
I remember seeing a build like this years ago, and (white Rippper blue skyways) and it was always a fave of mine.

thanks for the compliments and comments guy..much apprciated...im gonna get the ukais built up and try them for size, i think your right with the blue tyres though..its a bit too blue..ill get some black...any suggestions that wont break the bank?...im gonna ride this and im kinda tall hence the layback post and bar position...it feels right like that...as for the back brake its a 1000 but ive put a large round edged washer between the brake and the frame because i didnt want it touching the back tubes...its a 900 on the front and the opposite way round on my haro...maybe ill take a link out of the chain...the tuf neck stem and seat clamp came from the states and were both bagged ( and pricey! )..the other nos bits are/were the pads ( thanks pkradman ) and the whole braking system...the crankset and pedals were show mounted only..the seat has some minor scuffs..the bars were pretty much mint ( thanks davevilla )...the grips are the re-issues..wheels and tyres are new....im 95% happy with the bike so far and i appreciate all your helpful comments...keep em coming please.
no snow in london town as yet.

no probs
