I would  go to BnQ or robert dyas and buy some adjustable spanners , a set of metric spanners and a couple of screw drivers and allen keys , the tools in that kit are OK but are you going to use them all  to build a bike , then when you need something like a freewheel remover buy it then, this will be cheaper and you only end up buying what you need ,

if you want to get a link extractor and a headset spanner now they would be most usefull , but some of the stuff in that kit will be awaste

most bike shops will sell that lot seperatly , and prob be cheaper

you will build up a tool box that is usefull for other things as well , not just bikes

Rich :)

You also need a variable torque persuader (i.e. hammer) - the bigger the better I alway find  :daumenhoch:

Your right....most of the 'normal' bits I've already got, spanners and keys etc.

Won't I need tools for bottom bracket and stuff????

Toolkits are very simple if done properly, simply check every bolt and nut on your bike and make sure you have the corect tool for the job.

What I am basically saying is "customisation" is the key. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THOSE GENERIC CRAPPY TOOLSETS.

Parktool, Tacx, Shimano, Campagnolo all make good tools.

PLUS a torque wrench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought that tool kit a while back, and it has come in very handy  :daumenhoch:

Obviously I have loads of other tools too, but that seems to have all those tools in it that you might need in an emergency, its saved many a riders day at Rom on a Sunday morning  ;)
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

daz bmx it!

First rule of mechanics..........never force anything that won't budge or is stuck fast? all you need is a 'BIGGER' Hammer! :D
