First restore "Curtis Pro"
« on: November 18, 2010, 10:19 PM »
Right then guys, thought that I would start a thread of my first rebuild. This is my original bike from 1984 that I managed to get back 4 months ago, the frame, forks and bars have been at hockley's for the last 3 months and they arrived back to me today, I will be updating as the build progresses, thanks to all the guys on here who have helped me with parts and advice  :daumenhoch:

This is it when I got it back

This is it unpacked today

With some clothes on

More to follow :4_17_5:

I do like a Curtis race frame  :Great_Britain:, but without wishing to sound critical, whats going on with the seat tube? only a problem if your going to ride it hard i suppose but it does seem a shame :(

I was wondering when one of you lot would notice that  :LolLolLolLol: When my dad gave my bike to my young cousin i think he may have bent to original post (along with the rims)  :idiot2: so his dad inserted a 3/4" steel pipe into the seat tube, did the clamp up too tight and over time cracked the seat tube  :2gunsfiring_v1:

I was in two minds to send it back to Brians work shop and have a new one welded in but I squared it off and cut a new slot, the post clamps up nice and tight so I am thinking that it will be OK  :4_17_5:

Will start to put it together over the weekend  :daumenhoch:
