I'll be honest Steve, my love for oldschool has been on the wane (unless you find some Delta II forks for me  ::))

But finds like this & the 70's stuff that seem to be emerging keep me hooked.
Glad you got it.  :daumenhoch:

wicked wicked wicked, I absolutely love it, the firebird's older sister >:D are you sure there would be no space for the chain? Looking at the first picture; I'd say you could be lucky. And as you're lucky anyway..... build that thing; boy, I can't wait  :smitten:

I held up a chainring and spider and lining up where the freewheel would go you can't see the chainring, would have to build the bottom half up to be sure but as I'm not building it, who knows, lol

I like the look of that, very funky  :coolsmiley: . Shame it's not going to be built up but based on your comments about the chain alignment I can see why  :daumenhoch:

Wonder what would have happens if this frame had have been worked on a little more, curved tubes removed, would it have gone into production? What would it have been called?
How many other frames were there in the factory that never saw the light of day?
I think only one person would know all the answers to that and sadly he's no longer with us.

Thats well cool, great piece of history. I think its even cooler that it doesn't actually work ,   "just thinking"  they must of made it and thought that looks rad, then some bright spark comes along and says "how the fook you gonna get the chain on" LOL......

Saying that, I ride down at Durham skatepark occasionally and one of the youngins rides there without any chainring/sprocket/chain, he pretty damn good aswell, just drops in and he's away, maybe DP were thinking ahead of there time...lol,   or  they just arsed it up messing around with idea's ::)

Cool frame Steve, i think i'd be looking at away of getting a chain past those tubes without altering it, dunno how though ??? or running it as mentioned above. If you decide not to build it, please that frame to MK next year, got to see it in the flesh.

Awesome frame Steve..............

Ok, been playing around with the frame today.
Fitted a wheel into the dropouts, made up the BB but fitted the chainring 39t onto the back of the sugino spider and fitted them backwards onto the crank arm. This moves the chainring over enough to line up with the freewheel. Also if I added some washers to the hub that may also shift over the back end for more clearance. But we are still only talking about mm's its so tight. what's the smallest old school chainring freewheel set up? the 39t is almost rubbing the chainstays.

if you go for a flip/flop rear hub steve you could get 36/13 combo on-might give you enough clearance  :-\

The biggest problem is the chain wheel, it has to be so far over towards the seat tube that there's no part available to do this. Then the chain wheel hits the chain stay. I've set it up and it does run but it looks bad

A standard set up doesn't work, trust me. That picture looks like there's a clear run but it's the camera angle. I'll set it up again this week and add some pictures.

Theres always something to tempt you back Steve  ;)

That is one classic piece of history... even though its turning out to be an abortion  >:D

The shapes in it look like it might have been some 'next' idea to keep up with the GT, Sport, Streetbeat way that things were going... but those curved bits are awful

Great find though ... would be great to see some pics of how far its off working when set up.

I'm not tempted back Ed, just wanted to see this frame for myself. Everything else is going, then this may also go.

Been speaking to Neil Park about this frame set, found out some interesting information on it.
