Stubborn crown race

This thing is driving me mad .. its defo the right size but i can not get it on.  Had a pvc pipe over it, then a metal pipe, tried turning a bearing cup over and then the pipes .. it just goes on at an angle everytime .. been on it ages now, even tried heating it up .. what can i do?!!!

Fettle the inside of the race with either a dremel or a file 2 make it a looser fit . Then grease the forks and heat the crown race in boliing water then try again  ;) repeat as necessary  ::)

tis done ... fooked the metal pipe from the hoover right up though  :D
