A little hack action at the nationals this weekend
« on: April 25, 2006, 05:36 PM »
We actually had semis in hacks...:)

WASP 11 is my hack

The second video was the finals.  Sadly, we didn't make it but the race was exciting as hell with all 4 hacks going down in the last corner.

Almost pulled this move off...then old age set-in  :)

There were 11 hacks signed up to race but probably another 10 or so running around the pits and stuff.  I haven't seen that many hacks since the early 80s.

We'll be running again at the next couple of nationals

It was great!!  The first moto we got to race against gOrk (former UBR #1 and editor of BMX Action mag) Also got to race against  Kelly Crofoot (Kelly and his brother Chuck dominated the later years in hacks)  Last time I raced against him nearly 23 years ago, we bumped hacks pretty hard.  It was like nothing had changed (except for the aches and pains) as we again bumped into each other hard in the first corner. Hard to describe, but it was a rush racing hacks once again.  It wasn't Rancho or Corona, but it was still beautiful..:)

I was telling some of the guys that if you took that last turn carnage and put it at Rancho, Corona etc at 25-30 miiles per hour, you would get the mental opicture I had the previlege of enjoying back in the day.  Seriously, a week later, I'm still down about not making the main...:)
