My first S&M.
« on: October 19, 2010, 09:38 AM »
I got this as a complete a few months ago on ebay and it was a lemon. All the parts were either rusty or not worth keeping and the original decals were shot. After I repowdered it, I couldn't find any decals in my price range so I made a stencil and painted them on. Here's where I'm at on it now.

What do you think?

I'm going to be using a set of Fabweld Countermeasure cranks in chrome and either JP or Crupi pedals with green cages. The wheels will be Araya 7X's laced to green PMC hubs.

I scanned the original decal and printed it out. Then I just put it on some vinyl sticky paper and cut it out. It was a pain in the butt but it was worth it.

I used the green anodize spraypaint and had my girlfriend do the black outlines with auto paint. She has a much steadier hand than I do, if I would have done it the frame would have ended up looking like a zebra.  :LolLolLolLol:

It's close to being done. I stripped the painted stickers, they were chipping badly just from moving it around. I made some waterslide decals instead. All that is left is to put on the pedals, brake cable, and air up the tires. I still need to get some good outside pics but this will give you a good idea of what it will look like.

Going to get a different post as soon as I can. That one is so long that it is touching the bottom bracket and can't go any lower!

All that is left is to air up the tires.
