cracked frame
« on: October 11, 2010, 06:28 PM »
I have a crack that goes right around my eat post tube right under the seat clamp. I spoke to a guy who says they have to cut off the top and weld a seat clamp to it. does anyone on here know of another way of getting this done in London? I don'r want my seatclamp welded  :-\

I had a similar case, had the seat tube replaced and glad I've done it that way. Someone here can surely recommend you a good shop for this in/around London  :)

There are a couple of good people here that can do that for you, Sawzall springs to mind first (legend at fixing the unfixable) and there are a couple of other posted in the Technical stickies section.

Try sending Phil (Sawzall) a PM to see if he can help  :daumenhoch:

Thanks for the advice I'll check out these leads, I didn't know you could replace the seat post tube.
I'm new to this site so not so sure how to use it, I had a look for Phil Sawzall's info in the section mentioned but can't seem to find it. Does anyone have any contact details for this man?
Thanks again for the help
