akisu- a new lease of liife -new pics
« on: October 09, 2010, 07:14 PM »
this had been stuck in a garage for about 25 years and was in a state when i got it....

ive given the frame the coke and foil/peak polish treatment, bought some akisu forks to go with the frame, stem restored, seatpost restored crank and chainring restored, i tried to restore the seat by covering it in material and totally fooked it up, so ended up buying a new seat :D
i bought the rims off poolysheriff and hubs off snav..and built them myself which im well pleased with. i have had to buy a few parts for it but most of it has been restored. del's done his magic again with the decals, nice1 del
lets see what you think....
bars been changed to chrome gt's, seatpost been sprayed chrome :D

nice1 gaz :daumenhoch:

Akisu, eh? Rollin, I am truly amazed, that frame, together with the wheels, is amazing -- what a change. I'd do the upper deck differently, other bars, neck, post, saddle. Surely worth it   :daumenhoch:

That's one hell of a resto Gaz  :daumenhoch:

Chrome has come up bling  8)   Good to see something different being restored too .

Nice work on the wheels , took me 3 hours to lace my first set , spokes in , spokes out etc  ;D  :-[

I agree with Carl and a few of the others I would change the bars to chrome and maybe strip and polish that seatpost  ???

Great job though Gaz  :4_17_5:

Sweet bike! I have never seen one before with those decals. I've had that headtube decal on my Akisu laid back seat post since 1984. It's in rough shape. Can you help me find one of those round Akisu Decals?

Thanks,

JT
