Anodizing a Nippon or MX1000 or similar??
« on: September 30, 2010, 05:32 PM »
I was wondering if anyone here has had any quick release calipers re done, if so how did you get on with the QR part as it should remain chromed??

I was going to drill it out or remove it somehow then find a fastenings firm or engineering co to get it put back on, it seems simple enough........

I cannot find blue nippons for love or money so this way seems to be my only option and probably cheaper too.

Whats your views??

from what i've been told you can't anno them with the quick release in place as the process will disolve the steel  :(

Contact Custom Colours, I'm sure they tape up the chrome bits on the QR so it can be anodised  :daumenhoch:

Do they, surely if it destroys steel it wont be put off by a bit of tape.....

I will give em a call and have a chat, theres also a good place near me so will ask them too.
