Skyway ta curved brake bridge?

Hi everyone,
Excuse my ignorance, but was is the relevance of a curved, or straight brake bridge on the Skyway ta ?

skyway started in 82/83 with a curved bridge on the ta,then went to a straight in 84 then back to a curved as curved proved a bit stronger

no not regarding what brake bridge as far as i know but obviously as with any bike or model the lower the serial number the better, i guess the early jap made t.a's would be most desirable but price wise not much differance in any of the t.a's

The straight ones tend to crush but are better for brake set up as the curved washers grip both sides enabling better adjustment.

As marky has already said they all seem to go for around the same sort of money but expect to pay more for an XL and stay away from the 86 frames as they tend to have been made in the last ten years.

is that really true bob?i know theres been alot of debate about the non anniversary 86 frames.over on bmxmuseum.com a while back a thread was started about this and colored tuffs posted that the 86 frames were built ,sprayed,stickered and boxed in 86 then locked away at skyway to rot until he mananged to buy them all and then sell them on in 2003.he seemed pretty genuine when he posted it all and posted pics of all the framesets boxed up just how he collected them from skyway.i guess we will never really know the answer to this one??

that was the anniversary t.a's,they are all stamped with the anniversary mark,the 86's that were released in 2003 were genuine 'deadstock' from skyway,lets hope anyway!!

i may be wrong hutchman,i wish this myth could be proven once and for all!!i guess you just have to take colored tuffs word on this one??

I don't know about an early Jap curved being anymore desirable , I 'd prefer a straight bridged USA one , because its American

As for T/A XL 's they have gone up alot in the last year last one was over £700 for the frameset, pretty rare too

Thanks for the offer on your 2008 skyway frame (Glen), but I'm really after a complete bike at the moment, so if you guys hav one, or know someone who is up for selling pls let me know
