suntour mp1000 resto
« on: September 22, 2010, 07:32 PM »
as a few of you may know ive been off line for a week or so due to a fooked laptop,it was like losing a limb not being able to tune into rad on tap but one good thing that came of it was that it gave me time to resto a set of suntour pedals.id been  after set of pedals for my robbo build for a while but couldnt decide what i wanted.hutch beartraps would have been cool but the price tag was putting me off, suntour xc11's were the next best option but my last build an mrd had set of those all polished up so my next choice was suntour mp1000's,i had a nos set from radman last year and love them, alot rarer and more desirable than kkt  lightnings, although nos they are fetching crazy money now so i hung out for a used set.within a few days a battered set came up on bmxmuseum.com so i took a gamble that with my limited resto skills i could salvage them,at £56 posted it was worth a shot!!!

Great resto there Mark  :4_17_5:

They look mint  8)

  Jeeez you must of been at it all fookin week  :LolLolLolLol:  I would have hit them with 180 or 240's at least to begin with to get shut of them scrapes/gouges  :D

Get yourself a bench polisher and a polishing kit , it's so much easier , you would have had them done in a few hours  ;)

Hardest thing when using a bench polisher is not to get carried away and start distorting the lettering/stamps. But it would have been a god send to do the rest .  You have done a great job in retaining all the lettering  :daumenhoch:
